HNECCPHN is one of the eleven ACT NSW PHN’s making up the WPPP consortium with Capital Health Network nominated as the WPP Lead Organisation.
The WPP Program will provide advice on community workforce needs (at the GP catchment level) to the Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHAC) to inform the Australian General Practice Training distribution targets. It will also provide advice on AGPT training capacity and pathways to support and encourage registrars to establish a home in a region, settle there and complete training within that region.
What will the Workforce Planning and Prioritisation Project GP Advisory Panel do?
The Workforce Planning and Prioritisation Project GP Advisory Panel is an exciting opportunity for clinicians to provide clinical input into the GP Workforce Planning and Prioritisation program across the HNECC PHN region. The group will support the WPPP team to deliver workforce training needs and capacity assessment reports. The program plays a key role in informing the Colleges in planning GP training, including the quality and distribution of training to meet community health needs and the needs of multiple stakeholders.
Who is on the Workforce Planning and Prioritisation Project GP Advisory Panel?
The Advisory Panel is combined group of interested clinicians. To ensure that the Advisory Panel represents the whole region, we seek members from the Central Coast, Hunter Manning and the New England Northwest region. First Nations people are encouraged to apply.
What is the time commitment?
The HNECC PHN will provide an online Teams environment to facilitate the group meetings. An action list will be generated in lieu of formal minute taking.
