PHN EDUCATION SESSION
Please join us for an evening education session with the Community Mental Health team. Learn about the Community Mental Health Model of Care as well as a case presentation by our consultant Psychiatrists. Engage in a panel discussion with our experts to answer any of your questions regarding Community Mental Health. The case presentation and discussion topic will be The Post- COVID Pandemic, Borderline Personality Disorder
Learning Outcomes:
· Develop stronger relationships with the Community Mental Health Team.
· Gain a comprehensive understanding of the Community Mental Health Model of Care, including referral pathways and alternative referral options.
WHO: GPs, GP Registrars, Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, Aboriginal Health Workers/Practitioners.
SPEAKERS:
Dr James Zurek
Dr. James Zurek is a seasoned psychiatrist with over 20 years of experience. He has held leadership positions in NSW Health, including Clinical Director roles at Prince of Wales Hospital and in New England's mental health services. Additionally, he founded Red Tree Practice in Sydney, specializing in mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, and personality disorders. Dr. Zurek is known for his expertise in treating leaders in medicine, law, and business and has been honored with awards for his contributions to mental health care.
Dr Elaine Kwan
Dr Elaine Kwan is a consultation-liaison psychiatrist, psychogeriatrician and clinical researcher working in Sydney and rural NSW. She is a lecturer with the School of Psychiatry, UNSW and has authored articles and presented at international conferences on the topics of cognitive disorders in chronic illness, anxiety disorders in older people, and ECT. Dr Kwan was the recipient of research grants and Research Fellowship from the NSW Institute of Psychiatry to conduct studies on cognitive disorders in renal dialysis patients.
