This shift to a chronic disease model means there is an increasingly important role for GPs and primary health care nurses to ensure that patients are offered comprehensive preventative care based on national guidelines. We will be presenting details about some of the key IBD guidelines available for GPs, a new IBD summary guideline and the training to be released in the coming months. The webinar is free-of-charge but registration is essential.

IBD GP Aware stems from a priority area identified in the Federal Government’s IBD National Action Plan to support GPs to more effectively participate in IBD management through awareness and a suite of education resources and continuing professional development.

GP Aware is led by Crohn’s & Colitis Australia with consortium partners the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) and the Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL). The project is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health.
