Fulfilling service opportunity with great options for whole family
We are seeking a general practitioner to provide competent and compassionate primary care services to patients of our privately owned General Practice.
We are a 11-doctor, 2-site practice. Both Taree and Harrington sites have Distribution Priority Area (DPA) classification and full-time nursing support. Our nursing staff have been trained to provide care plans and cervical screening. We have an on-site psychologist at Taree and we did plan more Allied Health Practitioners there to facilitate collaborative care, but these plans were derailed by the pandemic. Instead, we constructed and opened the regional GP Respiratory Clinic which now offers vaccinations as well as COVID testing.
Some general practices seem cramped, under-staffed, poorly equipped and may even be a little depressing. An interior designer guided the recent refurbishment of our practices to ensure they are pleasant places to work or to receive health care.
We have close collaboration with the local private and public hospital, GP Synergy, the University of Newcastle and the Pain Management Research Institute. We comprise two of the 700 general practices invited to join the NPS MedicineWise programme. This programme provides us with tailored feedback and contributes de-identified data for primary care research.
While we would prefer an experienced GP, we can assist a non-VR doctor towards their Fellowship. Over 2019-2021, six of six of our past or current registrars or IMGs who have attempted their FRACGP exams have successfully completed them. We have regular doctors breakfast meetings at a nearby café to discuss clinical problems and journal articles or for peer support. Our successful applicant would ideally have a Fellowship and be proficient in minor skin surgery. As a good team member, the applicant should be willing and able to do an equal share of on-call, nursing home and home visits.
We trust our practice will provide top-of-the-range support and assist the successful applicant to reach their career and commercial goals. Many of our team have young families, so we prioritise work-life balance. If you think the beautiful Manning Valley may be the place for you, please get in touch.
