Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled GP locum to join our team, starting as soon as possible. This position offers flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity to work in a modern, fully equipped medical facility. As a GP locum at Tallowwood Health, you will have the autonomy to manage your patient caseload while benefiting from the support of experienced healthcare professionals and administrative staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality primary healthcare services to patients of all ages.
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, screenings, and preventive health checks.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and referrals.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and uphold professional standards of practice.

  • Medium size – 7 GPs, 2 Registrars, 6 Nursing staff & 10 Admin.
  • Located in the medical precinct – central to specialist rooms and public & private hospitals
  • Predominantly private billing for in-practice consultations.
  • Even On-call and registrar / medical student teaching.
  • At present, most GPs working from Tallowwood Health are not accepting new patients, reflecting the current demand for GP services.
  • 8 GP consult rooms, 1 minor op room, 5 nurse rooms
  • Booked appointments (no walk-ins)
  • Best Practice software
  • GPs enjoy supported clinical autonomy – we provide GPs wanting to operate from our site high quality support services and established systems through the work of skilled nursing and administrations staff.
  • On site engaged leadership – vision orientated – Tallowwood Health is a service provider for GPs, which is owned and operated by GPs.
  • Good communication – approachable staff, regular clinical meetings, scheduled open “catch-ups”, and cloud based electronic communication.
  • Team orientated – ongoing investment in team development
  • Established chronic disease management programs.

Requirements:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Proven experience as a General Practitioner, preferably in a primary care setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
