Youth Complex Mental Health Services (YCMHS) Evaluation

The HNECC PHN has commissioned external consultants to undertake an evaluation and review of the Youth Complex Mental Health services (YCMHS) by the providers across the region.

The aim of the YCMHS Evaluation is to improve mental health outcomes for young people in the HNECC region. The evaluation will obtain an understanding of the similarities and differences between the services. There will be a focus on scope, service delivery, data collection of all current providers in the HNECC PHN region, connection with key stakeholders in Youth Mental Health and benchmarking against other YCMHS to provide a review and recommendations on YCMHS improvements.

The evaluation outcomes will provide guidance and advice on potential improvements to service scope, workforce, equity of access, and data collection. The outcomes will also inform enhancements to service targets and the adoption of relevant outcome measures to support the PHN to revise service specifications which will improve service delivery for young people within the HNECC region.

We anticipate that the evaluation will be completed by Spring 2024.
