Gambling Awareness training for General Practitioners

It is estimated every person who has a gambling problem will affect six people. General Practitioners (GPs) play an important role in identifying people with gambling problems and can refer them to available resources. This webinar improves GP awareness of gambling harm, so they are equipped to offer solutions to help those in need. Learning objectives: • Explain gambling harm and public health issues • Identify co-morbid conditions and gambling problems • Utilise a range of tools for screening for gambling in the general consultation • Demonstrate strategies for providing psychoeducation to patients for reducing gambling harm • Explain strategies for appropriately referring to gambling support services
