Introduction to spinal cord injury for clinicians PART 1 - Impact on bodily systems

Wednesday, October 25th 2023
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
The NSW Spinal Outreach Service is offering two Lunch'n'learn education sessions via Zoom, designed for clinicians, case managers, and NDIS Coordinators of Support who are looking to learn more about spinal cord injury (SCI). These sessions are an introduction to spinal cord injury and will cover the impact on a person's physical and psychosocial wellbeing. This session will provide an overview of possible physical changes after SCI (e.g., to the bladder, bowel, sensation, autonomic function, breathing, strength, sexual function, and pain) and offer options for prevention and management of complications. The second session will explore psychosocial considerations after SCI.
