Program Objective: PEPA aims to improve health professionals’ knowledge, skills and confidence in the palliative approach to care for people with a life-limiting illness. The workshops are interactive and provide ample time for discussion through case presentations and examples (some aspects of the program may change due to circumstances beyond our control). Target Audience: NSW Ambulance Paramedics regardless of their palliative care experience. REGISTRATION is essential due to limited places. Aim of workshop: Develop an understanding of a palliative approach for Paramedics. Topics include: Principles/ Philosophy of Palliative Care; managing common symptoms in palliative care; pharmacology & non-pharmacology in palliative care; end of life care, including case studies, Advance care planning, Grief/ loss/ bereavement; overview of PEPA and placement opportunities (some aspects of the program may change due to circumstances beyond our control).
