The Current & Future State of ED and how Primary Care can help
As the number of COVID-19 infections increase, Adult Emergency Departments are seeing a surge in patients attending for a range of presentations. ED resources are limited, and patients presenting with mild disease or vaccine-related complaints may be managed outside of emergency. Additionally, COVID-19 patients increase the risk of transmission to others if spending lengthy time in ED waiting rooms.
This session will discuss a range of issues around the GP management of COVID-19 related health complaints. These include patient triage, requirements for patients attending ED and assessing and treating COVID-19 / vaccine related health conditions with more specific information related to myocarditis and pericarditis following an mRNA vaccination.
The presentation will also include a Q&A session with a panel of expert clinicians.
