This 3 hour interactive virtual workshop gives an opportunity for social workers to refresh and learn through experiential activities, case study reflections and delivery of knowledge. It explores the essentials of trauma informed practice including an awareness of trauma followed by putting this into direct practice experience and examples, encouraging social workers to work through case scenarios in a step by step reflection using what they have learnt from the earlier parts of the session.

The session also includes 4 opportunities for experiential learning including activities and reflection time working through case studies.

Presenter details: BEROS (formerly known as Brisbane Emergency Response Outreach Service) is funded by Moreton Region Child Safety (in QLD) to provide support to young people 12-18 years old who are self-placing and under child protection orders.

ARROS is funded through the Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs, ILC (Information, Linkages and Capacity Building NDIA) and individuals NDIS plans. ARROS works alongside young people with suspected or diagnosed intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities transitioning from care who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
