Wallarah Bay/Gorokan NSW - Providing a palliative approach in Aged Care - RNs/ENs
PEPA aims to improve health professionals’ knowledge, skills and confidence in the palliative approach to care for people with a life-limiting illness.
The workshops are interactive and provide ample time for discussion through case presentations and examples (some aspects of the program may change due to circumstances beyond our control).
Target Audience: All nurses (RNs & E/ENs) currently working across all health sectors (health, community, aged care) with no/limited palliative care experience. REGISTRATION is essential due to limited places.
Aim of workshop: Develop an understanding of a palliative approach in aged care for people with a life-limiting illness and their families.
Topics include: What is a palliative approach; communication in palliative care; Advance Care Planning - concepts & principles; Symptom recognition and understanding; End-of-life considerations; overview of PEPA and placement opportunities (some aspects of the program may change due to circumstances beyond our control).
