GP for Young People in Central Newcastle

Opportunity exists for another GP to join the Newcastle Headspace Team. Suited for GP’s with an interest in Young People’s wellbeing and working within a multi-disciplinary team.

Appointment based care of Young People- Long (40min) short (20min).

Flexible Hours and days- currently seeking interest in Mon-Tues-Friday. 80% billing. Floor rate available.

Deliver General Practice care eg: mental health, sexual health, drugs and alcohol, preventative healthcare and other physical health problems.

Work within multidisciplinary team with regular case conferencing.

Organization wide commitment to embedding strong clinical governance and ongoing quality improvement.

High ratio nursing and administrative support.

Access to accredited training courses.

Access to nationwide headspace

  • GP virtual Community of Practice.
  • small group secondary psychiatry consult meetings.

Essential Requirements: Fellowship FRACGP or ACRRM and Mental Health Skills Core Training, CRC and WWCC, Medical Indemnity

Desirable: Recent experience, interest or learning in Young Person and Mental Health eg. Focused Psychological Strategies Skills training The Essentials: Training Clinicians in Eating Disorders Module 1 Youth Mental Health Module 2 Alcohol and other Drugs and Sexual Health in Young People Module 3 Developmental Disorders in Young People
