The Better Health for the Bush - Bush GP Grant Program will be made up of three components:
- 20 x Recruitment Starter Grants - $2,500 per general practice
- 6 x Bush GP Incentive Grants - $25,000 per general practice
- 6 x Welcome Ambassador service - valued up to $10,000
To increase the likelihood of relocating GPs and their families settling in well to new towns each GP would be allocated a Welcome Ambassador service for the first six months.
Recruitment Starter Grants (20) - $2,500 per practice available
The $2,500 Recruitment Starter Grants are designed to support general practice in their recruitment activities.
Bush GP Incentive Grants (6) - $25,000 available in the LGA’s list below
The Bush GP grants will be provided to the general practice upon the signing of a new GP from outside of the HNECC PHN of a two year/minimum three days per week contract.
Eligible areas for the Recruitment Started Grants include:
- Mehi - Moree, Narrabri, Gwydir LGA
- Tablelands - Inverell, Tenterfield, Glen Innes LGA
- Plains – Uralla, Walcha, Gunnedah, Liverpool Plains LGA
- Upper Hunter – Merriwa, Aberdeen, Scone, Murrurundi LGA
- Tamworth LGA
