EOI - Domestic Family Violence half day training scholarship

Domestic and Family Violence is a Public Health Issue. Intimate partner violence is the greatest contributor for death, disability and illness in Australian women aged 18-44.

The PHN is working hard to support the National Plan’s vision of Ending Gender Based Violence in one generation. Violence against women and children is not inevitable and can be prevented.

The PHN is supporting two primary care workers to attend She is not your rehab "How To Do The Work" half day training.

This small group, trauma informed interactive training hosted by Matt and Sarah Brown of She is not your rehab, is intended for anyone working in the family violence/sexual violence space or whose mahi/work touches upon the lives of people impacted by family violence – health workers, specialist clinicians and advocates, support staff, teachers, police, social workers, family lawyers, therapists, community workers and leaders, government funders and policy advisors, academics and researchers.

This is NOT a look and learn; this is an experience based upon participation and vulnerability while building competence, self-awareness, empathy and courage into those who are first responders of the pandemic that is domestic violence.

The PHN would like to invite interested primary care clinicians to submit an EOI to attend the training by 11th October.

To submit an EOI, please email safeandhealthy@thephn.com.au and briefly outline:

  • Your name and role
  • How the training is relevant to your work
  • How the learnings from the training may influence your work

Notification to successful applicant will be via email. Notification will be received by 18th October.
