New resources available for 2022 influenza vaccination

The 2022 influenza vaccination resource collection provides clear and easily understood information for people to protect themselves and others from the flu.
The resources provide information about getting vaccinated against influenza in 2022, including information on:
- Why and when people should get vaccinated against influenza
- Who is eligible for a free influenza vaccine under the National Immunisation Program
- Influenza vaccine safety, including influenza in pregnancy
Resources have been developed for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples and also in a number of languages other than English.
Influenza vaccination is particularly important this year with the Australian community potentially more vulnerable to the virus this winter. Following the easing of COVID-19 public health measures a resurgence of influenza is expected
People are encouraged to start to book their appointments from mid-April to ensure the best protection at the peak of the season, usually between June and September
