Mandatory Reporting to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR)

A reminder that under the Australian Immunisation Register Act 2015 it is mandatory for vaccination providers to report ALL vaccines given to the AIR. From 1 March 2024, it became mandatory to include the route of administration (for Japanese encephalitis vaccines) and the vaccine type for all vaccines prescribed by the AIR Rule (COVID-19, Influenza, National Immunisation Program (NIP) and JEV vaccines).

Reporting vaccination encounters to the AIR means that the register contains a complete and reliable dataset and is able to monitor immunisation coverage and administration. It also allows individuals to have a complete record of their vaccinations.

Cold Chain

In NSW it is compulsory for at least one staff member to complete the HETI online Cold Chain Training Module. However, it is strongly recommended that ALL staff members complete this training.
