Inclusive Care for LGBTQ+ Clients - Tailored Coaching for Allied Health (EOI)

The Hunter New England and Central Coast Primary Health Network (the PHN) is pleased to be offering Allied Health practice managers/owners in the Hunter, New England and Central Coast regions the opportunity to access tailored one on one coaching to provide improved LGBTQ+ inclusive health care.

Successful practices will be provided a Pride in Health + Wellbeing Membership and assigned a dedicated Relationship Manager as a mentor and coach to work towards improving the practices capabilities in providing LGBTQ+ inclusive care. The Relationship Manager will assist practices to identify potential service gaps, design a tailored approach to address these gaps and conduct monthly meetings to monitor and support the process of closing the gaps. Practice staff will be upskilled through consultation and ongoing training and provided access to member-only resources including, the latest research, best practice information and networking opportunities.

Program inclusions - One of either 12-month membership:

Pride in Health + Wellbeing Lite Membership - (10 available) suitable for practices new to LGBTQ+ inclusion work

Pride in Health + Wellbeing Standard Memberships (2 available) suitable for practices have done some foundational LGBTQ+ inclusion work

Criteria for both Memberships

Allied health business practice owner, practice manager or equivalent located in the Hunter, New England or Central Coast region.

Expression of interest (EOI) application submission demonstrates the following;

  • a desire and readiness to implement change to support LGBTQ inclusive care
  • an understanding or commitment to developing an understanding of the impact of providing inclusive care
  • a commitment to allocating a minimum of 10 hours a month to carry out inclusion work (including monthly check in meetings, planning and implementation)

Essential Criteria for Standard Membership

The practice has a strong commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion, and has already implemented foundational inclusive care initiatives, for example:

  • all practice staff have previously undertaken LGBTQ+ introductory training; or
  • the practice is working towards Rainbow Tick Accreditation; or
  • the practice has implemented inclusive intake forms

Dates:

  • EOI Open 3 April 2024 at 8 am
  • EOI Close 16 May 2024 at 5pm EOI NOW EXTENDED TO 23 MAY 5PM
  • Outcomes of the EOI will be informed by 31 May 2024
