Dads In Distress Tamworth Launch Event

We're coming to Tamworth! We're running weekly support groups for Dads that are 100% free, male-friendly, non-judgemental, and completely confidential.

This event is about letting the community know we're here to share insights into the genuine issues faced by separated dads (especially about contact with kids and feelings of suicide) and how support can be provided. Also, more generally, men's support in the Tamworth area is issues around men's Health and Wellbeing.

Allergies in babies under 6 months - webinar for health professionals

Would you like to know more about allergies in babies under 6 months? The National Allergy Council and Connecting the Dots – A National Nutrition Service are pleased to bring you a webinar featuring Dr Preeti Joshi, a paediatric clinical immunology/allergy specialist and Dr Merryn Netting, an advanced paediatric allergy dietitian.

The webinar will cover:

• When is it allergy – differentiating between allergy and other conditions

• Signs of an allergic reaction in babies

• Can babies ‘grow out’ of their allergies?

• Maternal diet when breastfeeding

• What infant formula to use if needed

• When and how to introduce common allergy causing foods, especially egg and peanut

• When should the child see a specialist?

Optimising cervical screening for people with disability – supporting equity in your practice

This interactive webinar will provide a disability-focused, case-based overview of the renewed National Cervical Screening Program (NCSP) including the choice of universal self-collection.

This session is presented by cervical screening experts Prof Deborah Bateson and Dr Lara Roeske, with key insights from Tricia Malowney, a disability advocate who has post-polio syndrome. It will explore cervical screening barriers and discuss strategies and techniques to support screening for patients with disability, including those with intellectual or cognitive disability.
