Wellbeing Weekend 2023

Our wellbeing weekend offers you the chance to re-energise and reflect on your own wellbeing.

The program will meet the new 2023-25 CPD requirement and will cover a range of activities, such as yoga, surfing, art classes and more, that you can enjoy at an idyllic waterview location.

Chronic Conditions of the Foot

Building a practical skillset for foot assessment that enables a healthcare practitioner to be competent and confident in chronic conditions of the foot basic care.

Learning Outcomes

• Safely perform a basic foot care assessment

• Determine foot care requirements

• Prepare and use basic equipment and materials

• Document foot, skin and nail care according to organisational requirements

• Make appropriate referrals in a timely manner

Course in Ear Wax Removal (Irrigation)

Building the skillset required to confidently support Irrigation (Ear Wax Removal) and improve Ear Health Assessment focussing on safe clinical practice. Be workplace ready to understand the changing treatment considerations and processes.

Learning Outcomes

• Understand the basic anatomy and function of the ear including the basic landmarks of the tympanic membrane

• Assess the ear to define the appropriate wax management decision, identify the risks and risk management considerations.

• Recognise complications of ear irrigation, and appropriate management, documentation, and follow up processes.

• Understand the competencies required for successful ear irrigation.

Course in Ear Wax Removal (Microsuction)

Microsuction is a strategic treatment option for ear health, whether it is a foreign body or wax removal that is required. This course requires a strong understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the ear. Build the knowledge of when to use microsuction, as a technique, with practice and assessments using mannequins to enhance capability, and strengthen patient care.

Learning Outcomes

• Assess and determine factors that affect ear and hearing health in relation to microsuction

• Assess the client’s physical and pathophysiological auditory status and seek advice where appropriate

• Perform ear canal microsuctioning procedures when deemed appropriate and safe.

2023 Rural GPs Refresher Conference

You are invited to attend the 2023 Rural GPs Refresher Conference which will be held at Sails Port Macquarie from 24-26 March. The conference includes a rural-focused education program, a range of social events and our much-loved Partner and Children’s Program.

The conference will be accredited with ACRRM and RACGP and includes an optional pre-conference Advanced Life Support course. You can also apply to have the cost of your registration, travel and accommodation reimbursed through the Health Workforce Scholarship Program (HWSP).

The Rural GPs Refresher Conference is brought to you by NSW Rural Doctors Network and the Rural Doctors Association of NSW. It offers education and social events in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. We look forward to seeing you there.

RACGP member meet-up with optional CPD session

Join the RACGP for networking, drinks and nibbles in Tamworth with the option to attend a CPD session featuring a demo of myCPD with Q&A beforehand.

Optional CPD session 5.30pm – 6.00pm. Join us for a demonstration of myCPD with Q&A. We’ll cover the new requirements for the 2023-2025 triennium.

Member meet-up 6.00pm – 8.00pm. Join us for drinks and nibbles while catching up with your colleagues face-to-face. We’ll share some of the RACGP's key achievements and provide an update for New South Wales members and stakeholders. These events are open to RACGP members, practice staff, medical students, and rural health stakeholders.
