Walk with me: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with Autistic Adults (an individual and group approach)

This two-part interactive workshop will take an evidence-based approach to working with Autistic adults, both individually and within groups. It will offer participants a unique insight into how Autistic people experience the world around them and will provide participants with the opportunity to understand how to build an ACT approach into their work.

Supporting families experiencing non-finite loss and grief due to chronic illness or lifelong disability

This webinar will review the body of literature around living losses, help clinicians understand the complexity of the grief and loss experience in the context of a child’s disability or chronic illness, and explore the impact on individuals and family systems. Case studies will be used to share the parents and carers’ perspective and identify relevant strategies for the clinician in promoting resilience in circumstances of ambiguous and non-finite loss.

Working with Older People who experienced childhood trauma in ‘care’

This webinar will introduce evidence-based knowledge on the impacts of childhood trauma in care and the lived experience of these people, who are referred to as Forgotten Australians and Care Leavers. It will help social workers gain an understanding of how to prevent re-traumatisation in aged care settings and identify and respond to trauma behaviours.
