This session will focus on the paradigm shifts in opioid prescribing and where the pendulum sits currently. In will then touch on the latest developments in opioid prescribing, approvals process, real-time prescription monitoring, the interface of chronic pain management with opioid replacement therapy as well as ways to manage pain flares with minimal reliance on opioids.
Hypertension remains an important modifiable chronic kidney disease (CKD) risk factor that can be difficult to reliably diagnose and treat. In this activity we explore the difference between resistant hypertension and pseudo-resistant hypertension, and how hypertension and CKD relate. Finally, best practice treatments in the primary care setting will be discussed for individuals living with chronic kidney disease. Enquiries: primary.care@kidney.org.au. A $12.4m philanthropic gift from the Colonial Foundation will assist in developing and implementing rural and remote community focused Diabetes Alliance Program (DAP) intervention.
This two-day event will address the specific educational and collegiate support needs of Rural Generalist GPs working in rural hospitals.
The conference will focus on care of patients in rural hospitals by Rural Generalist GPs. It will include interactive case discussions, presentations and workshops relevant to this unique work environment. Presenters will include Rural Generalists as well as local non-GP Specialists.
Care finders provide face-to-face support to vulnerable older people who would not be able to arrange aged care services without intensive assistance and do not have a family member or friends who can help.
The framework aims to leverage established systems and associated projects to inspire healthier people and communities.
