Please join us for this Public Health Update on Japanese Encephalitis & COVID-19.
Japanese Encephalitis is a rare but serious illness caused by the Japanese Encephalitis virus (JEV). It is spread to humans by infected mosquitoes. It is a newly emerging disease in NSW and is spread when a mosquito bites an animal (such as pigs or waterbirds) that has the Japanese Encephalitis virus and then this mosquito bites a human. We will cover current vaccines and eligibility for funded vaccines, as well as recommended patient investigations.
This session will provide information on the PHN’s newly commissioned service with the National Centre for Childhood Grief (NCCG).
The NCCG will be delivering telehealth services across the HNECC PHN region for bereaved young people aged 3 to 17 years, who are struggling in their grief and requiring specialist counselling to support their challenges.
The Hunter New England Central Coast Primary Health Network’s (PHN) Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) Paediatric Telehealth project has concluded after successfully reducing waiting times in the New England and North West (NENW) region from 3-4 years to 1.5 years.
