Quirindi

On behalf of Liverpool Plains Shire Council, I welcome you to discover the natural beauty and country charm of the Liverpool Plains.

Nestled among rolling hills to the east and a sprawling patchwork of plains to the west, is the township of Quirindi its famous Who’d-A-Thought-It lookout giving you a 360-degree view of the district and setting the scene for some spectacular sunsets the region has to offer.

Quirindi and Werris Creek are located at the heart of the Shire and are supported by several smaller charming rural villages and hamlets including:

Blackville | Caroona | Currabubula | Pine Ridge | Premer | Spring Ridge | Wallabadah | Willow Tree

The Shire hosts diverse and popular events throughout the year including the annual Quirindi Rodeo, Military Tattoo, the Quirindi Rural Heritage Village Rally and Swap Meet and Quirindi Spring Show.

You will find a warm welcome and a host of activities to keep you entertained when you visit our region. From paddock-to-plate dining, horse sports and racing, arts exhibitions, markets and live entertainment, there is something here that all family members can enjoy.

If you enjoy an outdoor lifestyle, there are a range of local beauty spots that are great for a picnic, bike ride, bushwalk or spotting local wildlife. From December to March, take a scenic drive and you will see fields of sunflowers in full bloom.

Residents of the Liverpool Plains Shire enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, local parks, schools, libraries, sports and recreation activities. Browse local antique shops and markets on the weekend and enjoy an easy commute to work on weekdays.

But don’t take our word for it. Come see for yourself the rich history and unique culture of this thriving farming community. Locals will be happy to share with you what makes this region so great, but we trust you will discover this yourself and hope you may even consider living in the region.
