Location
Situated in the New England Region on the banks of the beautiful Macintyre River, the town sits on the Gwydir Highway, which connects Western NSW with the east coast only 3.5 hours’ drive away. Inverell is located 590 m above sea-level, 570 km north of Sydney via Thunderbolt's Way and 431 km south-west of Brisbane via Glen Innes.

Inverell is accessible by air with direct flights from Sydney and Brisbane.
