Glen Innes Highlands has learning options available from early childhood through to tertiary education.
Childcare
The Glen Innes community is serviced by one private early learning centre catering for babies, toddlers and preschoolers.
In addition, two home-based long family day care centres are independently operated.
Out of School Hours (OOSH) is also available for students aged five to 12.
Preschool
Quality early childhood education for 3-5 year olds is delivered by the not-for-profit Glen Innes Preschool Association Inc.
Its primary campus operates in Glen Innes Monday to Friday during school terms. Two outreach centres operate in nearby Deepwater and Emmaville on individual days during school term.

St Joseph's School, Glen Innes is a primary co-educational Catholic School with an enrolment of about 200 students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
Secondary Schools
Glen Innes has secondary schooling available in the Glen Innes Township and in the neighbouring village of Emmaville.
Boarding Schools are an alternative option for secondary schooling.
Tertiary Education
A NSW TAFE campus and UNE Study Centre are based in the Glen Innes Severn Learning Centre aimed at supporting people studying online.
The closest university is UNE based in Armidale and it has a significant range of course available to complete by distance education. Southern Cross University also has campuses in Coffs Harbour and Lismore.
