eRequesting

eRequesting is a fast and easy digital process for ordering pathology tests through participating labs which can:

reduce the risk of transcription errors

support improvements in workflow in the practice

send requests directly to a nominated pathology lab

results can be delivered more quickly to the requesting provider
An additional benefit is that for some of these laboratory’s results that are requested electronically can be shared with My Health Record. e-requesting may already be implemented at your practice if barcodes are being printed on your pathology request forms.
The paper request form, printed at the same time as the e-request is generated, enables the patient to exercise choice of provider. Contact your pathology to check if they are participating and enable e-requesting.
